Create Shortcuts of Network Shared Folders

Description

Desktop shortcuts reduce the need to access your applications or folders from their original file location, saving you time and improving productivity. Follow the steps below to create a desktop shortcut for a network shared folder:

  1. Right-click anywhere on an empty area of your desktop.

From the menu that appears, hover over New and select Shortcut.

This will redirect you to another dialog box. From there, choose the Shortcut option.

  2. A window will appear asking you to enter the location of the item. Type or paste the network path of the shared folder you want to create a shortcut for. (For example: \\ServerName\SharedFolder)

  3. Click Next and choose a name for the shortcut. (Most users leave the suggested name as is.)

  4. Click Finish. The shortcut will now appear on your desktop — double-click it to access the shared folder.
